School and University Desk Copy Policy in the US
As a courtesy to educational and research institutions, Kodansha USA offers desk copies and a professional discount for examination copies.
Complimentary desk copies are available to qualified instructors per the terms below:
- Limit one desk copy per required text per class. Second copy is available with expected enrollment above 50.
- Maximum of two desk copies text per course. Additional copies past the first two are offered at 40% off retail price + shipping.
- Please submit request on department letterhead with proof of order from your University bookstore. Include title, ISBN, name of course, start date, and complete mailing address (with daytime phone, fax, and/or email address). Desk copies will not be shipped to residences; they must be mailed in care of your institution.
- Audio materials (cassettes and CDs), teachers manuals, and titles priced over $40.00 are not available as desk copies but may be purchased at a 40% discount.
- Only required texts are eligible. Desk copies for optional course reading will not be provided.
Kodansha USA does not offer free examination copies.
- Titles being considered for course adoption may be purchased at a professional discount of 40% off retail price + shipping (non-returnable). (3 max.)
